Who We Are

Grace Community Church began in July 2004 with a group of excited believers who had a desire to begin a contemporary praise and worship church in Cullman County. The church first met in the home of the first pastor of Grace, Mike Owen, and the people stood around a swimming pool for their first time of worship together. Around the pool that day, God began His work at what is now Grace Community Church. It was clear from day one that God had initiated this church and was going to use Grace in a huge way to impact people for Christ in Cullman County.

During the first year, Grace grew both spiritually and numerically. Grace has always been committed to building the church with or without buildings, so the building has never been the emphasis. From the first gathering around the pool, Grace moved to a storefront in Holly Pond, Alabama. After meeting there for a while and growing to the point that we needed to look for another building, God opened up a site outside of Holly Pond, toward Cullman, on Highway 278. We moved into our present location in March 2005, after our members completed the renovation of a warehouse, all without the help of a construction company.

Grace has a passion and desire to be used by God to bring people to connect with God. We are ready to see what God has in store for us in the future as we seek to be the church God wants us to be.
